Bocek Vs Henderson. An exciting back and forth fight. I know both guys and I thought Ben was going to win(which he did). The kid is just unchokeable. I think he breaths through his knees or something. As good of a grappler that Bocek is(and he is REALLY good), you just cant choke the unchokeable. The other thing is Ben has amazing cardio. I remember helping him get ready for his second fight with Cerrone and the kid was dancing in between rounds.
Valdi Vs Brilz. I train with Vladi and know how hard he hits. Im going to admit, I was worried if this fight went deep, but it didnt matter. Vladi landed quickly and made it fast work
Machida Vs Couture. I picked Machida to win a decision and instead he brings me back to my childhood. I felt like I was watching Daniel Laruso in the finals of the All valley Karate championships. Now, Couture is no Johnny from Cobra kai, but that kick was all "no can defense"! *if you are not following the karate kid references, I feel sorry for you*
Hominick Vs Aldo. Aldo seemed to be off his game and a bit lethargic. The scary thing is even that being said, he dominated the first 4 rds. I liked how Mark came back and won the 5th and Im sure that made the Canadian fans really excited, but alas, it was too little too late. If in the coming days it comes out that there was something wrong with Aldo, it wont be surprising to me at all, but what is surprising, is the kid is a machine even when off!
GSP Vs Shields. Pretty much exactly what I expected, except Jake didn't shoot as much as I thought he would. Lets face it, GSP is REALLY good at game planning and he does not deviate from it. There are two voices going off in my head about this. The fan in me hates it and thinks he should put it on the line more. The fighter in me is amazed at his ability to stick with his plan, regardless if he is dominating. I don't have this in me. I am trying to finish from the beginning of the fight til it ends. If I could turn that off in me and fight more like GSP, I would have a LOT less losses in my record.
