The Eye

My last blog got me thinking about one of if not the greatest "fight"/motivational songs ever. I know many might be thinking Im talking about I touch myself by Di Vinyls, but Im not. Im talking about EYE OF THE TIGER! Now, survivor(Thats the group who wrote this masterpiece) hit it big with this single and deserved it! I mean, come on. Rocky 3! Now, Rocko wasnt fighting for democracy or fighting a steroid monster to avenge his friend and ensure america won the cold war, but he was fight MR FRICKEN T! Now, some may not know who MR T is, but at the time, he was the baddest mofo in the galaxy. He would pity fools for just about anything! He was in WWF(not the world wild federation, this is when pro wrestling was REAL!...ok, not real, but it was real to me....ok, it wasnt real to me, but it was very entertaining), he was the BAD ASS of the fricken A TEAM! Do you know who bad ass you have to be to be THE bad ass of the A team? REALLY BAD ASS

So, there Rocko was, fighting this smashing machine. The thing is, Mr T was playing Clubber Lang who is a character that is essentially Mr T as a boxer. He was as bad as they got. He was Koing everyone. Hell he BEAT ROCKY!. Now Rock, needed that and it pushed him over the edge and made him start training hard again. So, what Did Rocky use to get that fire back, to train properly, to defeat this nemesis? He used EYE OF THE TIGER.

This song is as bad ass as Mr T was.

Risin' up, back on the street Did my time, took my chances . And Rocky did. he rose up, he took to the mean streets of Philadelphia and found his inner Tiger

Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive . And he was. Back on his feet just trying to survive this jungle we call life.

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
. The eye of the fricken tiger! Are there any other eyes as hungry? Are there?! I dont even know what the cream of the fight is, but it sounds bad ass and it makes me want to take down the baddest mofo out there! Im getting amped just reading it!!

And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger
. I dont know how survivors are stalking prey, the way I figured if you are a survivor, its because you ran from your enemies and survived, but not in this context. Oh no, you went out and make your enemy your prey!! You got out there and you rip him(or her) to shreds. You do it like....well, like a tiger!!!

I could go on and on, but I want to thank Survivor for making this epic force of musical genius. It still gives me chills.
