I was just talking to a friend of mine who had heard this story and I realized it gets recycled and told so much that it must be entertaining. Ill try to do the real occurrence justice.

*disclaimer* This happened in 2004 and I don't do this type of nonsense anymore.

The fifth fight of my career was in South Lake Tahoe. I ended up fighting at a higher weight(170lbs) because my first opponent had pulled out and I was there to fight. The fight was over quickly and I won by TKO. Needless to say, I was ecstatic. I had just won my 4th fight in a row and against an opponent who was much bigger than me. The fight was at Caesars(I believe) and there was an after party set up for all the fighters at the nightclub in the casino.

I decided to go to the after party after drinking a bit too much. Now, if you know anything about my fights, I always wear a mask going into the cage. The fight in Tahoe was no different and I decided to wear the same mask to the after party (Don't ask me why, I don't remember). Myself and my victory party entourage were stopped to have our ID's checked and I was asked to take off my mask. We successfully got into the club, where I put my mask back on. We were immediately stopped by another security guard and he asked me to take my mask off again. Once again I obliged, but this security guard was on a mission and said "Now you have to leave". I asked to speak to his manager, to which Mr 'power trip' said "I AM THE MANAGER". Once again I asked to see the manager. Mr 'broken nose"(wait, Im getting ahead of myself) says "You fighters think you can do what you want. Tell you what, how about you either leave or Ill kick you ass and throw you out?" At this point in my life I will admit, I had a different way of interacting with people and especially people who threatened me, so my obvious answer was "'YOU'RE going to kick my ass?" followed with as much fake laughter as I could muster. Mr. "Oops, I shouldn't have done that" then grabs my shoulder and says "YEAH!"

Did I mention His nickname being Mr Broken nose? I hit him square in the nose as hard as I could. I was immediately swarmed by other security and ripped to the ground. Take into consideration Jiu Jitsu is the thing Im best at and I am MORE than happy to go to the ground, As one guard grabbed my legs, I sunk him into a triangle choke and put him to sleep and I was tussling with the other 2, when my friend asked me to please calm down and just relax(Thanks for that one Mike Popp)

I was immediately hand cuffed and brought to the security office.I was sat down into a chair with my hand cuffed behind my back. The Security let it be known that the police were called and they planned to prosecute me to the fullest. Once again, this is a different time frame in my life, but that didn't detract from me thinking on my toes. I knew if there was a medical emergency, that would supersede the police and EMS would have to be called. Knowing this I did the only thing I could do. I first said I was feeling really dizzy. This didn't get any reaction at all except possibly a "Good!" from the guards. time to step it up. I did a header from the chair directly onto the floor and started shaking uncontrollably. This got action! The ambulance arrived literally minutes before the police and I was strapped to a gurney and carted off to the hospital.

Once at the hospital, the Dr took one look at me asked what happened. I said I had blacked out, After a brief examination the Dr said I was fine and just called me a cab. I ended up taking a cab back to the hotel, went to a different casino and ended up successfully celebrating my 3 victories of the night.

*disclaimer again* This is not glamorizing violence and I do not in any way condone my behavior, and although I walked away from it, 2weeks later I was served papers and had to go to court to deal with my actions. Good lesson learned. It IS a pretty good story though
