I gave myself a week to analyze and figure out what went wrong in my last fight. Admittedly, most of that week was me feeling sorry for myself and beating myself up mentally over and over again. At the end though, I felt that the biggest issue Im having now, is weight.
When I first started fighting, I was always considered a large lightweight and looking back, I may have been, but it wasnt good weight. By good weight I mean I wasnt as lean or as in shape as I could have been. As things change in MMA and it gets more and more competitive, being in better shape and in the proper weight class is REALLY important.
My past 2 fights I have had to cut no more than 5lbs(this past fight I only cut 3lbs) and still wasnt as lean as I could be. With these things being weighed into the bigger picture, I have decided to make the 145lb weight class. Its going to be a bit of challenge, but I think its for the best. I have zero intention on not improving every other aspect of my game, but the size difference at lightweight is becoming to much of a detriment.
Im hoping to be improved in every area and back to fighting as soon as I can.
