Now, Im sure Im not the first person to be thought of when it comes to diet. In fact, I admit, its not my strength. I hate it in fact. Its not fun and dieting makes me really crabby. Ive done a lot of different things in the past and had pretty good success until I turned 29. They say your metabolism slows down when you get older, but mine seemed to stop, take a nap and grab a burger. I still put the hours away at the gym and really push myself, but now I really have to monitor everything I do(stupid age!) So, Ill give a little break down of how Ive been going about eating for this fight. It seems to be working and its not the most miserable Ive ever been....I do however have 3 weeks to go, so stand by or Ubercrabby!

First and foremost has been water consumption. I have a gallon of water with me everywhere I go and I dont go to sleep without finishing it.

No Carbs after 7pm. Keep it lean meats and veggies. Ill mix in some raw almonds for good fats though

Calorie counting. I need to ensure that Im not consuming too many or not enough. It becomes an annoying game of looking at labels and figuring out how much Ive consumed so far.

No sugar, limited dairy. I do consume some sugar from fruit sources, but never refined and sugar intake of any kind stops after 7pm. My dairy consumption is really limited. the one thing that is a daily is whey protein.

Im very limited in my cooking ability, so it stays pretty constant. For the sake of putting this all together, Ill map out what I ate yesterday(it changes, but stays pretty much the same)

Breakfast- egg whites, turkey bacon, single slice of Ezekiel bread, green juice(organic celery, spinach, cucumbers and other greens...yeah, tastes like a lawn)

Snack - Ostrich Jerky and almonds

Lunch -shrimp ceveche( 2 small portions) with avacado

Snack- protein shake

Dinner_ahi tuna and almonds- Dessert- Protein pudding(20grams of protein, no sugar, 100 calories and tastes good. How is this product off the market?)

Thats pretty much it. Basic, basic. I give myself one cheat day a week and I cant(and dont go overboard) Usually, Ill have Ethiopian food or the Vietnamese soup Pho and maybe a frozen yogurt. Thats cheating right there!

Supplements. I keep this pretty basic too. Besides a good whey protein, I take a fish oil pill, joint supplement(with msm, Glucosamine and chondroitin), daily vitamin, fiber pill and a greens pill.

Is this the best diet out there? No. Im not a nutritionist and sadly I dont have a personal chef(if you would like the job pro bono, let me know), so this is what I do. It seems to work and Im feeling and looking like Im ready to fight. With 3 weeks to go, Im on target weight wise and Im not really suffering yet.Now, Id rather be eating fun and delicious things, but this is working.
